Cornwall Bakery offers a variety of Culinary Classes and Corporate Team Building Events.

Our classes and team building events are educational, hands on, engaging and fun!  We offer a variety of classes or you can create your own private class with a minimum of 10 students. To arrange a private class please email us at

Cornwall can help you create a fun team building event that everyone will enjoy!  Choose from a culinary class, cake wars, cooking challenge or competition and we’ll organize all the ingredients, professional support and details.

Corporate team building events are typically 3-hours.  Teams will be under the direction of a Cornwall professional chef who will guide them to a winning creation!

Cornwall provides all the supplies, encouragement and judging of the competition.  Your teams can enjoy their creations after the event, take them home, or we can arrange to deliver them to your office the following day.

Cornwall has offered team building events for UofM, Home Depot, ACLU, Boston Consulting Group and more!

Freeman Gunnell, proprietor of Cornwall Bakery in Grosse Pointe Park is a graduate of the School for American Chefs, Beringer Vineyards at Napa Valley, California as well as Cuisine Regionale of France from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, France. His well-rounded career includes working as chef de cuisine and as a pastry chef in gourmet restaurants as well as corporate and private settings. Awarded the prestigious IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) pastry award to study at Ecole Lenotre in Paris, France and three-time recipient of the IDDBA Scholarships (International Dairy-Deli Bakery Association), 2007- 2009. He graduated Schoolcraft College with high honors in the Culinary Arts, Pastry and Baking Programs.  He has an extensive 20 year culinary history working in fine dining and gaining experience in breads and pastries working under the direction of renowned chefs including Wolfgang Puck, Madeleine Kamman and Jimmy Schmidt.


Megan Gunnell, LMSW, MT-BC, is a psychotherapist in private practice and founder of the Thriving Well Institute. Megan has facilitated international wellness workshops and retreats and can help with your corporate team building event.

Megan and Freeman were married in 1998 and have 2 children.  They have co-facilitated wellness retreats in Costa Rica and Food and Wine Tours in Europe.  They share a love for creativity, the arts, health, cooking and travel.

Cornwall Bakery Cooking Class Series – 2020

We have joined forces with The Thriving Well Institute for a 3 part series of healthy cooking classes for 2020.

Register today for our culinary classes for winter 2020. All classes are held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.  Limited to 15 students.
